A new hiscox.biz, and the ASTRID range, with prices

Two things landed this week: a new website, and the ASTRID range going on the page with prices rather than “talk to us”.

The site now starts with your problem

The old site listed what we do. The new one starts with what you’re trying to solve. The homepage opens with “What do you need to do?”, wipe or certify media, check a card is genuine, monitor equipment you can’t watch, and takes you straight to the right place. Each service page does the same: the problem in your words, then how we handle it.

If you’ve got a job that doesn’t fit a box, every page has a “Something else?” card. Describe it and we’ll come back with an approach and a fixed quote.

The ASTRID range, priced

ASTRID is the full field station, it reads a card’s real health and authenticity from the silicon, erases and certifies to NIST 800-88, writes and verifies gold images, collects logs, and provisions devices in the field, with everything flowing back to the portal. RRP £499 ex VAT.

Alongside it, two portable card checkers for identity, health and counterfeit detection: ASTRID Lite (around £99) and the hardened ASTRID Lite Pro (around £199). Those two prices are provisional until their bills of materials are final, we’d rather say so than guess.

Subscriptions, and what you get without one

Every ASTRID ships with 12 months of card-information database and software updates and issues certificates on the device, with no subscription at all.

Two subscriptions keep it current and unlock the platform, both per device, ex VAT:

• Standard, £19/month. The cloud portal with your results history and certificates, ongoing card-database and software updates, per-device and fleet configuration (turn features on or off from the portal, no site visit), and email support.
• Premium, £39/month. Everything in Standard plus the live counterfeit register and matching, capacity verification, card backup before erase, lost mode and remote lock, inspection capture, on-device service guides and the engineer terminal, an extended advance-swap warranty, and priority support.
